The Pattern
There are three separate patterns available for this kit. Rigid-Heddle, four, and eight-shaft.
The Colors
Only three colors are used in the warp. Naturel, Vieil Or, and Limette Pale. The Limette is used only as weft and can be switched out for a different color without significantly changing the towels. You can also choose different warp colors. My suggestion is to keep them within the same color grouping, but ranging from lighter to mid-range in saturation.
Using the warp colors provided with the kit, there are many options for weft. My suggestion is to play around and expect the unexpected.
The reveal includes samples with alternate wefts, not included with kit, Orange Fonce, Wine, Jeans, and Peacock.
Rigid Heddle
Warp: 8/2 cotton doubled in a 12-dent heddle. Weft: 8/2 cotton, not doubled, 20” weaving width with adjustments included for narrower and wider.
Yield: There is plenty of yarn to make up to eight towels on two to three separate warps.
Four and Eight-Shaft Looms
The warp is 22” wide at 24 ends per inch. It works best in a 12-dent reed but can easily be woven with an eight or ten.
The four-shaft pattern will include instructions for making the warp narrower or wider. I strongly recommend weaving the eight-shaft pattern at 22” wide.
For four towels plus generous samples, you will need a 5.5 yd warp which will use 980 yds per warp color.
Plan on around 470 yds weft per towel.
You can wind up to a seven yard warp for six towels (no samples) and if you’re careful have enough weft left for one towel in each of the warp colors plus three in the non-warp color.

You can add on items from the main Vermont Weaving Supplies shop (different shop and account than the subscription account...sorry). All yarn and past kits will receive a 10% discount and free shipping during add/change days. Add-ons will ship with your club order.
Coupons for add-ons will be send via email. You must use these coupons while checking out or you will not receive your discount. Sorry, but we are not able to refund for orders placed without these codes.

Your subscription account is not the same as your regular VWS account. You will not be able to access it by logging in on this website.
Click the "Access Your Subscription Account" button below.
If this is your first time logging in, click "forgot password" and reset your password.
You should see your current subscription listed. If not, click the "subscription" button on the top menu.
Click the "manage" button.
Check that your address is correct and if not, please update.
Click on, "Update Choices" and fill out the questionnaire.
If you want to add on past patterns or kits, click the "add-on" button.
